J. Gardner Wilkinson, A Popular Account of the Ancient Egyptians Vol. 1 (1854).

This RARE book by J. Gardner Wilkinson is in Acceptable Condition. Sir Wilkinson was a British traveler, Orientalist and self-taught Egyptologist who is often called "the Father of British Egyptology." His many publications were immensely influential on both sides of the Atlantic in the 19th century and shaped the popular understanding of Ancient Egypt. This 1854 copy is Volume 1 of a 2 Volume set. It has string binding and the covers are starting to separate from the binding but are still intact. The binding is tight and there are no missing pages. A couple pages have small tears at the bottom. There are no inscriptions or markings. Some pages have a bit of yellowing but many pages are still white. The many woodcut illustrations are remarkable!
