This is a Kodak Retinette ⅠB Reomar 45mm f2.8, released in 1960 by Kodak Germany.
It was a popular camera in Europe at the time. I believe the secret to its popularity was the excellent performance of the Reomar 45mm f2.8 lens.
The Reomar lens was supplied by the German company Schneider to Kodak for their Retinette IA/IB rangefinder cameras as a fixed lens, from around 1958 to 1966.
The Reomar 45mm f2.8, although a triplet lens, still produces high-resolution photos that are perfectly acceptable even today. There are no scratches, but there is some coating degradation on the front of the lens.
While it shouldn't affect the photos, those who are concerned should refrain from purchasing.
The camera's exterior has no scratches or dents, and the covering has been repainted and dyed, making it look beautiful. The moving parts of the camera are also in good working order. It is a shutter-priority AE model; set the desired shutter speed and adjust the aperture ring to center the needle of the coupled selenium meter in the viewfinder to take a photo. Although it's a 60-year-old camera's light meter, it's a Gossen meter, so it still works, but please consider it as a guide.
Why not experience the difference in lens characteristics between American Kodak and German Kodak lenses?
Thank you for your consideration.
