First Methodist Church Gary's Mill Junction * Turner Junetion * Turner West Chicago, Illinois Our Beloved Church was started in 1835 by Charles Gary and his neighbors. For 120 years it has continuously ministered to the needs of people in the community.
Services were first held in the Gary home, then in Gary's sawmill until the little Church was built on the bank of the river. In 1858 the larger Church was built on our site at Wood and Church Streets. Our present brick building was constructed in 1902.
