WESTERN GERMANY 1950s VINTAGE CANDY CONTAINER ORNAMENTS

Christmas Candy Container Ornament, Vintage German Paper Mache Round Candy Box Angels, Western Germany. These are very early Western Germany Christmas decorations and are in amazing condition. These ornaments were created in later 1949 and into the very early 1950s (post war regulations after May 23, 1949) required all imported goods to be marked West Germany. These containers are marked "Western Germany" which indicates how early this is, since the more common mark used later was simply "West Germany". Sweets for children at christmas time have always been an important part of holiday celebrations. The highly collectible antique german candy container grew out of the german toy industry in the 1880s. Once emptied of candy these wonderful containers might be saved as ornaments or decorations for years to come. Many were destroyed in the opening process, or simply thrown away once their contents were consumed. These are hard to find in such pristine condition!,there is 6 sets of 3.
